Michael Lawrence, Keynote

Scientific Leader | R Core | Tool Builder | Bridging Bio, Code, and Community

Michael Lawrence, Principal Bioinformatics Research Engineer at Freenome, is a researcher in scalable, user-friendly genomic data analysis. With a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from Iowa State University, he led multiple initiatives at Genentech, including the development of a unified genomic analysis platform. As a core developer of R and a long time contributor to Bioconductor, Michael has helped create a number of packages fundamental to analyzing high-throughput sequencing data and data science in general. https://github.com/lawremi

Ting Ye, Keynote

Assistant Professor, University of Washington

Ting Ye is an Assistant Professor in Biostatistics at the University of Washington. Her research aims to accelerate human health advances through data-driven discovery, development, and delivery of clinical, medical, and scientific breakthroughs, spanning the design and analysis of complex innovative clinical trials, causal inference in biomedical big data, and quantitative medical research. Jeff Leek, Keynote

Chief Data Officer, VP, and Chair of Biostatistics, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center

Jeff Leek is the Vice President, Chief Data Officer, and J. Orin Edson Foundation Chair of Biostatistics at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. His work focuses on building tools to help people make sense of massive-scale genomic and biomedical data, with current leadership roles in the Cancer AI Alliance and the Fred Hutch Data Science Lab. Previously a professor at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Jeff is a co-founder of the Johns Hopkins Data Science Lab and the popular Simply Statistics blog. He is a recipient of the COPSS Presidents’ Award and was named to the Time AI 100 in 2025. https://jtleek.com/
